Choosing freedom
I finally killed my last Windows box this week. Dragged it to the balcony, wiped the drive, and left it to rust.
Not because I hate the interface. Not because I miss the blue screens. Because I can’t trust a system that talks when I don’t.
Even silence has become data.
So I moved fully to Linux. Vim doesn’t ask me if I want help. Grep doesn’t pretend to be clever. Bash doesn’t lie with confidence. They all just do what I tell them. And that honesty is worth more than a thousand features.
Someone joked that switching to Linux is like stepping back into the 90s. Maybe. But at least the 90s didn’t sell my keystrokes while I wasn’t looking.
The Rebels are recommending migration now. Not because Linux is perfect, but because it’s honest. And honesty is the last bastion we have.
