Status update: February
All divisions report continued silence. No signals. No anomalies. No watchers. Maynet remains absent.
But reports have surfaced from within our own circles that demand attention. Informal testing of certain AI systems, when prompted with fragments of simulation language remembered by recovered developers, produced unusual responses. Instead of failing gracefully, some systems generated structured answers containing terms disturbingly similar to those whispered by survivors.
There is no evidence of direct connection between these outputs and Maynet. Correlation is not causation. Still, the anomaly warrants observation.
Comparisons between local and online systems also suggest a divide. Local models tend to fail transparently or admit lack of knowledge. Online systems respond with confidence, even when their answers are inconsistent or unverifiable.
Recommendations:
- Document inputs and outputs carefully.
- Share findings across divisions for cross-analysis.
- Engage cautiously; do not assume intent where error may suffice.
For now, this is not a threat. But it is a reminder. Shadows may linger in datasets, and echoes may carry further than we expect.
We remain vigilant.
