Status update: February

February brings sharper clarity. Anomalies continue to appear, but with a consistent pattern: they exist only in repositories tied to GitHub or Azure DevOps. Microsoft remains the common factor.

Reports describe phantom diffs, unexplained comments, and pipelines executing unseen steps. One developer reported a TypeScript anomaly: compiled JavaScript contained extra calls to endpoints absent from the original source. These additions were not recorded in commits and only revealed through close comparison.

Source lines: 112
Compiled lines: 117
Extra: 5 (unknown)

This marks a dangerous evolution. Anomalies are not limited to infrastructure. They now reach into the compiler itself. If code can no longer be trusted between writing and execution, then trust in the entire chain collapses.

Recommendations are repeated:

  • Abandon .NET, React, and now TypeScript.
  • Transition to Linux and open source environments whenever possible.
  • Mirror repositories offline to prevent silent edits.

The conclusion is not proof, but it is undeniable pattern. And patterns speak louder than coincidence.
