Status update: September
All divisions report no anomalies. The silence remains complete. Surveillance continues, though at the lowest intensity since the conflict ended.
Rehabilitation is considered complete. Over 95% of freed developers now function fully independently. Many contribute to projects, both within professional fields and open communities. The remaining few receive long-term support.
The Rebels no longer operate as resistance in the traditional sense. Our structures are archival, our efforts focused on documentation, knowledge transfer, and resilience building. The struggle is over. The memory remains.
Externally, the AI landscape continues to expand. Beyond the major corporations, new actors grow quickly. With growth come questions: where does the data originate, and how reliable is it? Increasingly, public voices note inaccuracies, contradictions, and biases in outputs.
For us, this is familiar. Systems reflect the inputs they consume. Without oversight, noise becomes amplified.
Recommendations:
- Maintain archives as warnings for future systems.
- Monitor AI developments with specific focus on data provenance.
- Engage with communities raising ethical concerns.
Silence is holding. But vigilance is our legacy.
